QUARTZ HILL 3, VICTOR VALLEY 1: At Quartz Hill, the Jackrabbits’ season came to an end with a 25-15, 22-25, 25-16 and 29-27 loss to the Rebels in the second round of the CIF-SS Division III-AA playoffs.

Marylynn Thomann led the way for Victor Valley (13-4) with eight kills. Coreen Pereda served six points and had six digs and 10 assists. Crystal Amick served seven points to go with six kills and five digs. Brenna Leon added five kills and 13 assists.

The Jackrabbits have reached the second round of the playoffs three of the last four years.

UPLAND 3, SERRANO 1: At Phelan, the Diamondbacks lost 25-18, 25-17, 19-25 and 25-17 in the second round of the CIF-SS Division I-A playoffs.

Chelsey Talbott had six kills, three aces and 23 assists for Serrano (13-9). Amanda Gates added 12 digs and four kills and Chelsey Sanderson chipped in with seven blocks and eight kills.

The Diamondbacks reached the second round for the second straight year, but this was the first time they won a game in a second-round match.

SANTA MONICA 3, GRANITE HILLS 1: At Santa Monica, the Cougars were eliminated from the CIF-SS Division III-AA playoffs with a 25-17, 19-25, 25-17 and 25-19 loss.

Victoria Iosefa led Granite Hills (20-8) with 12 kills and 20 digs. Carly Chandler had 24 digs and Jillian Betts added 10 kills.

LUTHERAN/LA VERNE 3, VICTOR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 1: At Victorville, the Patriots lost 19-25, 26-24, 25-22 and 25-11 in the first round of the CIF-SS Division V-AA playoffs.

Tanya Ivory led VVCS (15-5) with 15 kills. Morgan Stansell had 13 kills and Rachel Conway added six. Emily Wade helped out with 28 assists.
