Former Sultana setter Cassidy Mangum signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Mangum, who graduated in May, said she will receive a full-ride scholarship and is expected to start as a setter for the Toros in her freshman year.

“I really like the location,” Mangum said. “It’s close to home. I met with the coaches and the players and seemed to fit very well. I had a really good time when I went down there. The coach and I connected really, really well.”

Mangum was recruited by a few other schools such as Occidental College and Cal Poly Pomona.

The 5-foot-4-inch setter received All-Mojave River League and Daily Press All-Area honors in 2006 and 2007. She also earned 4.3 GPA at Sultana.
